Genuine EveryDrop EDR2RXD1 Refrigerator Water Filter 2
Replace your old refrigerator filter with the genuine EveryDrop EDR2RXD1 Refrigerator Water Filter 2, the official Whirlpool OEM replacement for Filter 2 systems. It replaces the older W10413645A and P9WB2L cartridges and fits select refrigerators from Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and JennAir.
This is the orange EveryDrop Filter 2 cartridge. Before ordering, compare the model number and shape of your existing filter with EDR2RXD1 because Filter 1 and Filter 2 are not interchangeable.
Advanced Triple Filtration Technology
The EDR2RXD1 uses a renewable coconut-shell activated carbon core and a three-stage filtration process. Water passes through large-particle filtration, finer micro-filtration and targeted microscopic absorption to reduce substances that can affect the quality, taste and odor of refrigerator water and ice.
The current EveryDrop Filter 2 is certified to reduce 70 potentially harmful contaminants, including heavy metals, volatile organic compounds and 99% of microplastics.
Independently Certified to NSF Standards 42, 53 and 401
The EveryDrop EDR2RXD1 is independently tested and certified under three major NSF/ANSI standards:
-
NSF/ANSI 42: Reduces chlorine taste, odor and particulates.
-
NSF/ANSI 53: Reduces health-related contaminants such as lead, cysts, mercury and certain volatile organic compounds.
-
NSF/ANSI 401: Reduces selected emerging contaminants, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals and microplastics.
NSF listings rate the EDR2RXD1 system for a 200-gallon capacity and approximately 0.6 gallons per minute.
Genuine Whirlpool OEM Fit and Performance
EveryDrop is the official refrigerator water-filter brand for Whirlpool Corporation appliance brands. The EDR2RXD1 is developed for compatible refrigerator filter housings, helping maintain proper fit, water flow and filtration performance.
It is compatible with select models from:
Compatibility is model-specific. Check your refrigerator model number, existing cartridge or owner’s manual before ordering.
How to Install EveryDrop Filter 2
Most compatible Filter 2 refrigerators place the cartridge inside the upper-right area of the refrigerator compartment.
-
Open the Filter 2 compartment door.
-
Turn the old filter counterclockwise and pull it out.
-
Remove the protective packaging from the new EDR2RXD1.
-
Align the cartridge with the filter housing.
-
Insert the filter and turn it clockwise until it locks securely.
-
Close the filter compartment.
-
Flush approximately four gallons of water through the dispenser, or follow the flushing instructions in your refrigerator manual.
The EDR2RXD1 is a twist-lock filter, not a push-button-only cartridge.
Cloudy water, temporary sputtering or reduced flow immediately after installation is usually caused by trapped air or loose carbon particles in the water line. Continue flushing until the water runs clear and the flow becomes steady.

When Should the EDR2RXD1 Be Replaced?
Replace the filter every six months or after filtering approximately 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Earlier replacement may be necessary when:
-
The refrigerator’s filter indicator turns red.
-
Water dispensing becomes noticeably slower.
-
Water develops an unusual taste or odor.
-
Ice quality begins to decline.
-
Your household uses a high volume of refrigerator water.
Regular replacement helps maintain water flow, filtration performance and better-tasting refrigerator water and ice.
Is EDR2RXD1 the Same as W10413645A?
Yes. The EveryDrop EDR2RXD1 Filter 2 is the current OEM replacement commonly used in place of the older Whirlpool W10413645A cartridge.
Does EDR2RXD1 Reduce Microplastics?
Yes. The current EveryDrop Filter 2 is certified to reduce 99% of microplastics, along with selected heavy metals, VOCs and emerging contaminants covered by its NSF certifications.
Verify Your Filter Before Ordering
Choose this cartridge when your refrigerator manual or current filter identifies EDR2RXD1, W10413645A, P9WB2L or EveryDrop Filter 2. Do not order it solely because your refrigerator uses an EveryDrop cartridge; the numbered EveryDrop filters use different shapes and connection systems.
